Hans Christian Beyer
Hans Beyer is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell with over two decades of experience working on sophisticated business bankruptcies. He focuses his practice primarily upon asset recovery and commercial reorganization through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings. Although now specializing in the representation of creditors committees, trustees, liquidating agents, and assignees, Mr. Beyer also has extensive experience in representing large commercial debtors and a variety of financial institutions as well as government agencies in many significant bankruptcy-related cases in Florida and elsewhere and brings that experience to bear in each new engagement. Mr. Beyer is admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and both the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. In addition to his bankruptcy-related work, Mr. Beyer has acted as lead counsel to real estate developers on significant commercial projects both in and outside of the United States and has acted for the FDIC and other federal agencies in asset recovery litigation involving hundreds of millions of dollars.
A graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. in Economics with High Honors) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D. in 1991), Mr. Beyer is a frequent speaker and published author on topics pertaining to fraudulent transfer litigation, anti-money laundering initiatives, and the proper structuring of international transactions; he also lectures regularly at the University of Florida Law School. Mr. Beyer has presented papers at the World Tax Conferences in Dublin, Ireland and Barcelona, Spain; has authored numerous articles and treatise chapters for a variety of publishers including the American Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute; and has lectured to professional associations in numerous foreign jurisdictions including Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Canada. Consistently active in professional and civic organizations, Mr. Beyer has served on the Executive Council of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section since 1998 and has chaired its influential Bankruptcy/UCC Committee as well as other committees. He has also held a variety of influential positions in local civic organizations including acting as a director and president of his local Kiwanis Club.
